Assistant Professor - Doctor of Nursing Program
SUNY Brockport
The Department of Nursing at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a full-time, 10 month, tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach in a new Doctor of Nursing Program.
Major Responsibilities
Primary responsibility is teaching online in the Doctor of Nursing (DNP) program, though may be asked to teach in the Masters program. Other responsibilities include scholarship activities, participation in student advisement, committee work at the department and college level, and participation in curriculum development and evaluation.
Essential Functions:
- Course development and teaching in the DNP and masters program.
- Research and Scholarly activities
- Service to the department and college in terms of committee work.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Maintains attendance records
- Attends college wide events
Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Masters degree in Nursing from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization.
- Valid NYS professional nursing license.
- Recent clinical experience as an advanced practice nurse.
- Proficiency with assessment and evaluation of health care organizational systems.
- Demonstrated teaching proficiency to students and/or colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability for scholarly activities.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work with students, faculty and staff both within the college and practice arenas.
- Supports and contributes to an environment of diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust and ethical behavior.
- Work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participate with other to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Department of Nursing
Twenty-eight full-time faculty and staff and over 20 adjunct lecturers work in the Department of Nursing. Faculty teach in five different programs: a pre-licensure traditional BSN program, a pre-licensure second-degree accelerated BSN program, an RN to BSN completion program, a master's program that prepares Family Nurse Practitioners, and a new Doctor of Nursing Program. Come work with a great team of nursing faculty with students who are talented, energetic and engaged in the learning process.

- 350 miles from the many attractions of New York City.
- The area features a number of technology companies, including
Paychex, Xerox, and Kodak, and other large companies such as
Wegmans and Excellus. Rochester and its suburbs feature some of the
highest-quality public, private, parochial, and charter schools in
New York State. The region is known for its natural beauty,
including Lake Ontario, the Genesee River (with three major
waterfalls in Letchworth State Park), and the Finger Lakes region
with its notable vineyards and wineries.
Salary, Benefits and Appointment
