Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University
seeks applicants for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor
of Biochemistry, effective August 2021.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a strong research record, excellent teaching skills, and a coherent plan for engaging undergraduate students in research. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field. Outstanding applicants in all areas of biochemistry will be considered.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to lead a rigorous
research program, which will include securing extramural funding
and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The candidate’s primary
responsibilities will be to establish a research program with
undergraduate student involvement and teach biochemistry lecture
and laboratory. The candidate will also teach introductory general
chemistry classes as needed and be expected to contribute to upper
division biochemistry courses.
Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active
research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated
on their research/scholarly activity, teaching and service.
