General Summary/Purpose

We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator to assist with a project involving infection prevention in home infusion therapy. This position would include coordinating meetings and data collection from five home infusion agencies nationally. It would involve recruiting participants for and arranging interviews and supporting analysis. In addition, the candidate would provide assistance with survey development and distribution. The candidate would coordinate visits and observations of home infusion agencies. Aiding in development and implementation of training materials will be necessary. The position may also involve chart reviews as needed. This position requires more complex study activities requiring independent activity.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly meetings of home infusion agencies
• Assist in recruiting participants for interviews, observations, and surveys
• Consent participants
• Set up tools and procedures for data collection and study processes including in electronic databases and secure cloud storage tools
• Assist with survey development
• Ensure data collection from member agencies
• Assist with keeping member agencies engaged
• Serve as liaison between investigator and IRB for administrative matters
• Enter data
• Some simple chart abstraction
• Aid in development of training material and implementation
• Develop simple spreadsheets/databases
• Manage purchases for the study
• Develop protocols
• Submit IRBs, using a single IRB structure
• Other duties as requested by principal investigator
• Prepare progress reports
• Draft abstracts
• Draft manuscripts


Minimum Qualifications

Education: BS/BA required

Experience: Some experience required

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
