The Dean for the School of Arts, Sciences and Business (SASB)/Academic Enrichment Programs manages undergraduate and graduate programs across 15 academic areas and reports directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. As chief administrator, the Dean has the following core responsibilities. These include developing strategic planning, budgeting for the School, hiring and providing for the professional development of faculty, and supervising Department Chairs and Program Directors. The Dean has oversight of the following: Initiatives for enrollment growth as well as plans and processes for student recruitment and retention, development of new programs, curriculum design including academic majors and undergraduate general education, processes for assessment of program effectiveness and student learning outcomes, specialty area accreditations and grant development, Student Abroad and International Student Services, Service and Experiential Learning, Academic Success Services including the Trailblazers Program for First Generation College students, the Tutoring Center, and the First -Year Seminar program.

Reporting to the Dean are: Department Chairs and Program Directors, SASB professional academic advisors, SASB Associate Dean, Director of Academic Success and Enrichment, Director of the undergraduate Honors Program, Director for Service Learning and Community Engagement, and Director for Study Abroad and International Student Services.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have an earned doctorate in a liberal arts and sciences discipline represented within the NDMU School of Arts, Sciences and Business. Candidates should have a strong record of full-time teaching and scholarly accomplishments, along with evidence of administrative experience and leadership of strategic initiatives. Candidates should have strong experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, in both teaching and program development. Tenured full professor rank preferred.
