Position Summary and Responsibilities This temporary position is for the Assistant Teacher in the toddler program at the Infant Toddler Center (ITC). Our program is currently located outside on the playground and under large tents for the majority of the day.
The Infant Toddler Center is located on the Vassar College campus and welcomes Vassar and community families. The Toddler Program at ITC provides direct care to 10 toddlers (age range 18 to 36 months).
This Assistant Teacher position will be a member of the teaching team in the Toddler Program. This individual provides nurturing and responsive caregiving and engages in consistent and ongoing interaction and developmentally appropriate practices with toddlers throughout the day.

- Other duties as assigned by the Site Director (ITC).
This position reports to the Site Director at ITC.
Work Schedule: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Flexibility is required as hours may occasionally need to be adjusted or modified due to staffing or programming needs.
This position is temporary through December 18, 2020.
- A minimum of a CDA in early childhood education plus a bachelor's degree or an Associate's Degree in Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience in a lab school setting preferred.
- Flexibility, creativity, effective communication skills,
professionalism and strong teamwork skills are required.
- Punctuality and consistency in attendance is critical to
maintaining a sense of comfort, reliability and structure for the
children in our care.
- Must successfully complete all requirements of the Office of
Children and Family Services.
- Must meet and comply with all requirements related to COVID-19 safety and health measures.
