Position Summary:
The NOVA Assistant Director assists the Director in the overall strategic planning and fiscal management of the program. He or she oversees the data management system and the overall academic tracking and monitoring process for project participants. Additionally, the incumbent provides academic advising and course instruction to NOVA participants and supervises NOVA student workers and tutors.

Minimum Education:
Master’s degree in relevant field (Education, Behavioral and/or Social Science, Higher Education Administration or other related discipline) from an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Minimum Experience:
•A minimum of 3 years of experience in academic advising and/or postsecondary course instruction is required.
•Prior experience in data management, fiscal management, and recordkeeping is required.
•Experience with SSS or other TRIO funded programs is highly desirable. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experienced the same challenges as the SSS target population.

•Possesses knowledge of data management, fiscal management, course instruction, and academic advising.
•Knowledge of theories and best practices in student development, particularly in relation to retention and the educational challenges facing first-generation and low-income students.
•Ability to use common computer software and data management systems.
•Understanding of federal grant guidelines.
