About the College/Department:


Position Summary:
The Department of Fire Protection & Paramedicine Sciences in the Eastern Kentucky University, College of Justice & Safety, seeks to hire a 9 month position at the Lecturer level. This position will have an emphasis in one or more of the following degree programs; Fire Protection Administration, Fire and Explosion Investigations, or Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology (FPSET). All three degree programs are accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), while the FPSET degree is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET-ETAC). The primary responsibility for the candidate will be teaching undergraduate fire protection related courses online and on campus to a diverse range of students. Excellence in, and a commitment to, teaching are essential. A mix of active research, publication, certification/licensure, experience and public service are preferred. A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent international institution in a relevant discipline is required; doctorate or J.D. is preferred. The ideal candidate will have practical documented experience in one or more of the following fields: Forensic investigation of fires and/or explosion incidents involving explosives and/or gaseous fuels; Fire Protection Engineering or directly related fields; Chief level administration of a multifaceted Fire/Emergency services organization. Experience in the litigation process including legal aspects of civil and criminal litigation procedure involved in fire protection, investigation and/or fire administration will also be considered.


Minimum Qualifications:
