Chair, Health Services Research, Management and Policy

The Department seeks a dynamic leader whose key responsibilities include expansion of current academic programs, guidance and leadership toward increasing the department’s research and scholarly portfolio, teaching and mentorship, oversight of departmental operations (e.g., fiscal, human resources, policies and governance), alumni outreach, and development and implementation of strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Qualifications: The well-qualified candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, extramural funding, and mentoring and leadership experience consistent with the rank of professor. Academic credentials should include a doctoral degree in health services research, health administration, health management, health economics, health policy, public health or related field. The chair may also qualify for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield eminent scholar chair position.

Department Overview:  (www.hsrmp.phhp.ufl.edu)  The department is located in the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy Complex and is part of the top ranked accredited College of Public Health and Health Professions. The College offers a diverse environment that serves as a hub to promote interdisciplinary collaborations across the Health Science Center and is well integrated with several institutes (e.g. Clinical Translational Research Institute) which provides access to extensive health infrastructure and information systems. The department administers a Master of Health Administration Program, offers a PhD in Public Health with a concentration in health services research and provides leadership to the MPH program in population health management.  Faculty also contribute to the undergraduate health science and public health programs through teaching and mentorship. Departmental faculty provide instructional and health services research expertise in diverse areas, such as diabetes, infectious disease, cancer, and cardiovascular health. The department is heavily engaged in heath disparities research and also houses the Florida Office on Disability and Health, which was developed to improve access to health services and overall quality of life for people with disabilities.
