Position Summary:

The Graduate and Undergraduate Program Coordinator develops and implements the administrative activities of the degree programs in the Department of Geoscience. The position works closely with the Department Manager, Department Chair, Committee Chairs, and Undergraduate Advisor and is responsible for recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising for graduate students; and monitoring progress towards the degree, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and student funding programs. Additionally, the Graduate Program Coordinator communicates policy to all instructional staff on instructional activities, academic records, departmental archiving, course evaluations, curricular planning, etc. This position requires independent work habits and good public relations skills, as well as great attention to detail.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Prior work experience in an academic setting required, 3 years preferred.
- Excellent communication (oral/written), administrative and interpersonal skills required.
- Experience with academic programs, and/or undergraduate or graduate advising required.
- Graduate admissions experience preferred.
- Experience in natural sciences preferred.
