The Lucas Lab (https://chemistry.vcu.edu/people/faculty/lucas.html) within the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a research specialist with expertise in synthesis and X-ray crystallography of metallocomplexes. The principal research focus will be on the structural characterization of transition metal-based catalysts and reaction intermediates. Applications from enthusiastic and hardworking candidates with expertise in inorganic synthesis are welcomed. The successful candidate will also be expected to independently design, execute, and analyze experiments, to contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, and to promote a collegial and rigorous laboratory environment. Periodic technical progress reports will be required. The appointment will be on an hourly wage basis, with a target average of 29 hours per week.
B.S. in Chemistry or a related discipline.
Applicants must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience working in a research lab.
Must be able to work in a diverse environment.
Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline.
