Research Technician II

Position Summary

The Poulsen lab is part of the Department of Neurosurgery in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences ( JSMBS ). We are located in the Clinical Translational Research Center ( CTRC ) on the downtown medical campus. Our laboratory is focused on the development of therapeutic applications for the treatment of stroke, TBI and post-traumatic epilepsy. We are currently seeking applicants with experience in lab animal care. The successful applicant will:

  • Assist in rat surgeries, monitor and record behavioral and cognitive assessments. Post-surgical monitoring and care will be required.
  • Place animal orders as well as assisting the lab manager in maintaining adequate inventory supplies.
  • Collect and review data analysis. Use this collection to write research reports, publications and grant applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or licensed vet tech

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field, neuroscience research experience and experience working with rodents.
