Schedule Information: Regular business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Occasionally, flexible hours (evenings and Saturdays) may be required.

Hours per Week: 37.5

Duties of Position: Responsible for coordinating the activities of the ASC’s Math and Science area tutors, the Developmental Math Center, and Anatomy Room. Responsible for collaborating with ASC management to recruit, screen applicant credentials, and recommend qualified applicants to management for hire; and providing comprehensive tutor schedules to ensure adequate coverage of ASC’s services’ needs. Responsible for training and mentoring new tutors; strengthening and sustaining a vibrant online program to support distance learning that mirrors the on-campus tutoring program; and creating a training program for all areas of responsibility. Responsible for tutoring courses within discipline, especially higher-level courses.

Develops and sustains a vibrant online program to support distance learning that mirrors the on-campus tutoring program.

Collaborates with the Academic Support Center management to discuss services, review data, and address program growth and improvement in alignment with the College's Strategic Plan.

Collaborates with the Academic Support Center management to recruit, screen applicant credentials, and recommend applicants to management for hire.

Provides comprehensive tutor schedules to ensure adequate coverage during Academic Support Center's operating hours.

Trains and mentors new tutors in problem solving and serving students.

Communicates and shares with area tutors discipline curriculum and faculty assignments and requests.

Creates a training program for all tutors within the areas of responsibility.

Tutors within discipline, both individually and in groups, especially higher level courses.

Coordinates with discipline faculty to acquire current resources and materials needed to support area tutors.

Promotes the Academic Support Center to faculty, staff, and students.

Collaborates with discipline faculty to design, arrange, and schedule course-specific reviews.

Observes area tutors formally and informally to continue to improve services.

Engages in professional communities to stay current with and apply best pedagogical practices to tutoring.

Responds to faculty, staff, and student concerns in a timely manner.

Utilizes relevant software to make data-driven decisions.

Prepares appropriate reports as necessary.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Master's degree in math or science

Experience Requirements: at least three years of coordinating online and face-to-face tutoring services.
