New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Director, Visiting Student Programs.
The Director, Visiting Student Programs is responsible for leading NYUAD’s program to provide a growing number of students from other NYU campuses with intensive intellectual growth and personal development opportunities through a semester or year of study abroad in Abu Dhabi. This entails 1) delivering an outstanding semester abroad program at NYUAD in all its dimensions (orientation, cultural programming, student development, academic advising, health and wellness, integration with NYUAD students, program evaluation, staff supervision), 2) liaising with the leadership of departments at NYUAD to develop special thematic programming in line with priorities for academic and personal developments of the visiting students, 3) developing the capacity of the existing visiting student program at NYUAD to support 200+ visiting students per year (from 80 currently), and 4) serving as one of the senior academic advisors for visiting and NYUAD students.
The Director works independently under the supervision of the NYUAD Assistant Vice Provost for Global Education.

Visiting Student Program Implementation and Strategic
Direction
Energetically and effectively ensure the
delivery of a top quality semester abroad program at NYUAD in all
its dimensions (orientation, cultural programming, student
development, academic advising, health and wellness, integration
with NYUAD students, program evaluation, staff supervision).
Simultaneously, lead the development and implementation of a
strategy to expand and continuously improve NYU Abu Dhabi’s
visiting student programs
New Program Development
Work collaboratively with a
variety of stakeholders across the University to develop new
visiting student programs that build upon the unique resources at
NYU Abu Dhabi. Develop new programs in the following areas, among
others: pre-professional programs (e.g. Health and Law), STEM
fields, undergraduate research, arts apprenticeships and
internships
Visiting Student Scholarships
Lead the development
and implementation of a scholarship/award program for visiting
students in Abu Dhabi. Oversee the development of the application,
selection process, and distribution of awards. Establish an
evaluation framework to assess the program’s effectiveness in
drawing talented students from across the university network to Abu
Dhabi
Student Success
The Director has overall
responsibility for building the policies and structures to ensure
student success on the visiting program. Director will coordinate
closely with student services and academic support units to monitor
and evaluate student programming
Building Awareness
Develop and implement an extensive
communication plan to raise awareness of NYU Abu Dhabi’s
programming for NYUNY and NYUSH students. Collaborate closely with
global academic centers, faculty, student ambassadors, the Global
Programs’ team and other key stakeholders to disseminate
information about opportunities and generate a significant increase
in applications. Develop effective yield and retention
communications. Produce effective website, social media, and print
communications
Supervision
Supervise staff by recruiting, assigning
and establishing priorities and overseeing workflow and
administrative infrastructure. Exercise authority or make effective
recommendations for hirings, promotions, salary adjustments or any
other change of status. Staff supervised may include full-time
exempt and nonexempt employees as well as student assistants
Budget
Oversee and monitor assigned department
budget: analyze past expenditures, forecast needs and recommend
future allocations, review/approve expenses with signatory
authority for routine and non-routine expenses. Prepare and analyze
related financial reports
