Associate Dean of Students

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Associate Dean for Students is a key member of the Dean's management staff. The Associate Dean is responsible for overseeing all matters related to the Law School's Recruitment, admissions, and enrollment, career services, student services, and financial aid. The Associate Dean's primary responsibility is to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of services in accordance with Law School, University goals, policies, and professional standards.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law School. Must have taken and passed the bar exam of North Carolina or any other U.S. jurisdiction. Requires five years of full-time administrative experience in law school admissions, enrollment, management, financial aid, student personnel, student development, or student counseling required. Related experience in a law school is highly preferred.

•Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work cooperatively with others
•Ability to work independently, making effective decision quickly and resolutely.
•Ethical/Honest - evidence of the practice of a high level confidentiality.
•Outstanding communicator and strong writer; an individual who possesses superior written and verbal communications skills, as well as the ability to present their views in a clear and compelling manner
•Demonstrated ability to organize workflow and manage multiple tasks and functions simultaneously
•Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; possessing conflict resolution and/or mediation skills.
•Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators and other diverse groups
•Working knowledge of relevant federal policies, including the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and Title IX
•Experience facilitating the assessment of program and learning outcomes
