The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery and the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) are seeking a Chief of Surgical Oncology at the professor rank who is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in surgical oncology. The appropriate candidate will also serve as Associate Director for Clinical Affairs in BCM's Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. The candidate will provide leadership and strategic oversight of this highly skilled team as they focus on the multidisciplinary treatment of cancer. The successful candidate will exhibit a commitment to clinical excellence and innovation and show prior experience in building collaborative clinical, educational, and research programs on a national level.

The Cancer Center includes 450 faculty from a variety of different clinical and basic science departments. Members bring in approximately $163M in annual cancer relevant research. More than 400 patients are enrolled into interventional treatment clinical trials annually. Thirteen shared core resources supported by the Cancer Center are available for investigators in basic, translational, and clinical research. Seven research programs and 12 disease oriented working groups are additional strengths of the DLDCCC and offer outstanding multidisciplinary cancer programs.
