Job Description


The Analyst I, Workforce Eduation will be accountable for labor market research of 50+ credit and non-credit Workforce Education Programs as well as new program proposals submitted through the Workforce Council. This position will be responsible for gathering, producing and analyzing data from a variety of sources and analysis methodologies including labor market data and real-time labor market intelligence, surveys, system-wide data reports, program review and government resources to identify trends, describe the current state, and make recommendations for data-driven decision making in conjunction with the Director and Executive Director.


  • Lead meetings with instructors, customers, and other stakeholders to build strong working relationships, so business needs can be assessed, and effective learning solutions can be developed
  • Conduct needs assessments for industry partners to better understand the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by their workforce
  • Develop and follow procedures in Program Development handbook
  • Promote training to workforce advisors
  • Develop curriculum of workforce programs by cross-walking core competencies to courses. Create and update crosswalks for courses and programs
  • Create and analyze a variety of detailed reports. Use data-driven information in decision making and provide informed updates to appropriate leadership as needed
  • Complete special projects relating to Workforce Education Programs as assigned by the Director, Executive Director and/or AVC, Workforce Education
  • Assist in the preparation of Workforce Council, Chaired by AVC, OWECP and a campus VPI
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with emphasis on establishing and maintaining relationships with community employer groups, system leadership, staff and committees relating to workforce development, research and planning
  • Support System special projects and System-wide initiatives including Grants, CTE, Corporate College, and provide gainful employment data to support marketing efforts
  • Conduct Workforce Program Development Process for system-wide program development and continuous improvement through Workforce Council by producing labor market data and analysis, Focus Group and PCAL planning, and execution efforts
  • Provide detailed labor market data reports & analysis to support all workforce programs
  • Analyze data and labor market trends to make decisions on program development

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the fu nctions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


    • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


    Hiring salary range is $46,300 - $53,245

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
