Position Summary:

The Assistant Researcher position is a multi-functional position housed within the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Ecology at UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) and provides research support to a large field research project and grad student projects.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in a biology or natural resources related field required; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Experience with acoustic data analyses and interpretation
-Experience with data collection methods using autonomous recording units.
-Minimum 4 years experience leading crews in field biology or ecology positions.
-Excellent organizational, management, and office skills.
-Experience with database management.
-Experience with statistical software and statistical methods.
-Experience writing scientific papers and scientific reports.
-Experience with hiring and training field crews.
