ED Alternatives to Opioids Project Director
Project Manager II
- Works with PAMI ED-ALT project PI, investigators, stakeholders
and emergency department leadership to implement pain management
order sets, educational toolkits and a pain coaching program.
Manages the timeline and implementation of all project goals and
objectives. Develops detailed work plans, resource documents,
timelines and milestones. Leads project meetings and drives project
issues through to resolution. Leads the development of best
practices and tools for the PAMI ED-ALT project. Works with the EM
Research Manager regarding project costs, budget and ordering of
project materials. Communicates regularly with project stakeholders
- Reviews and follows research and protocols related the project.
Assists in developing study protocols and checklists; enters data
into appropriate study databases in collaboration with project data
analyst. Ensures regulatory documents are properly completed and
filed, serves as a liaison between investigators, IRB coordinator,
and other relevant healthcare professionals who are part of the
research or patient care team for smooth and informed
implementation of project studies. Stays current on all SAMHSA
technical assistance activities, trainings and requirements.
Implements good clinical practice (GCP) and follows the Code of
Federal Regulations (CFR) and Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA), and follows the University of Florida
policies and procedures in regard to research.
- Develops project meeting, educational and outreach materials,
presentations, progress reports, infographics, posters, and
articles. Conducts and manages project related literature
databases. Creates meaningful patient and provider education
materials or videos using programs such as VISME, CANVA, or
Master's degree in in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Doctorate degree preferred, not required. Professional experience conducting programs for alternatives to opioids or in a related pain management field, ideally in a hospital or emergency department setting. Knowledge of pain and emergency medicine. Clinical experience as a nurse, counselor, paramedic, pharmacy technician or other clinical health professional. Project management and research experience.
