Job Description:
  • Works with Pain Assessment and Management Initiative (PAMI) investigators, stakeholders and content experts (pharmacists, pain specialist, physical therapists, psychologists, etc.) to develop education and coaching online toolkit materials for implementing nonopioid and nonpharmacologic patient pain education management plans including coaching scripts, videos, screening materials, resources, best practices, follow-up plans and documentation metrics. Develops project screening metrics to identify patients at greatest need. Compiles resources and patient education materials for virtual reality, aromatherapy, mindfulness, distraction, physical modalities, topical and nonopioid analgesics, medication safety, and naloxone. Creates meaningful patient and provider education materials or videos using programs such as VISME, CANVA, or VYOND. Participates in pain patient rounds in inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Develops and field tests a discharge pilot pain and opioid stewardship patient toolkit customized by pain type and patient needs including materials for physical and cognitive pain management interventions. Researches and trials toolkit options and revises content based on patient and provider feedback. Maintains an inventory and menu of patient toolkit materials and options. Distributes toolkits and plans feedback and revision strategies. Develops accompanying literature and resources for toolkit products.

  • Develops and maintains project timeline, meeting minutes, educational and outreach materials, presentations, grant progress reports, infographics, and posters. Conducts and manages project related literature databases. Manages the implementation of all project goals and objectives. Communicates regularly with project stakeholders and investigators.
Expected Salary:

$45,000-$65,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field such as nursing, public health or psychology and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred. Professional experience in patient education, pain management, neurobiology or integrative medicine. Clinical experience as a nurse, counselor, paramedic, pharmacy technician or other clinical health professional. Project management experience.
