Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
include teaching classes in the civil and sustainability
engineering program including, but not limited to, steel and
concrete design, soil mechanics and foundations, construction
materials, structural analysis, and transportation systems and
design. This faculty will be expected to develop and maintain
steel, concrete, construction materials, and soil mechanics
laboratories and laboratory equipment. Engagement in seeking the
EAC/ABET accreditation for this new civil engineering program is
preferred. Responsibilities commensurate of an assistant professor,
including research and creative activities, is necessary. Other
responsibilities include student academic and career advisement,
establishing a student organization, and developing professional
industry partners for internship and full-time career
opportunities. Development and participation in student recruiting
and retention activities will be important for program growth.
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related degree is required. Professional Engineering licensure in Kentucky within four years is required. Having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam or a doctorate from a civil engineering program that is approved by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Surveyors is required. Experience working as a civil engineer or teaching civil engineering in the subject areas listed is required. Application Deadline is October 16, 2020.
