Nurse Practitioner

 

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a Nurse Practitioner in Student Health Services.

 

Duties include: providing accurate health care to students; faculty, staff and related contracted vendors as deemed appropriate by the Auxiliary services department; performing medical assessments; obtaining medical histories; performing physical examinations; maintaining confidentiality of student records and health information; promoting disease prevention and managing medical care for some stable chronic illnesses; providing patients with information regarding procedures, medicines, risks, or benefits that may be involved in treatments; managing medical compliance to include OSHA Regulations, credentialing, nursing competencies, and quality assurance; and performing other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Master's degree in nursing and five (5) years of clinical experience required. SC license as a registered nurse with recognition as an advanced practice RN (nurse practitioner) by the SC Board of Nursing required. Experience in a clinical setting within higher education is preferred. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute chronic patient issues; strong gynecology skills; substantial interpersonal skills necessary to educate students and collaborate with other health care providers; the ability to develop and implement programs for the Student Health Center; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, student and the general public.
