Director of the School of Nursing
Millikin University seeks a strategic and visionary leader to serve as the Director of its well-respected and established School of Nursing (beginning August 1, 2021). The 12-month appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with both the timeline of the tenure-track appointment and the position salary dependent upon the qualifications of the successful candidate.
The Director reports directly to the Dean of the College of Professional Studies and is administratively responsible for all aspects of the School of Nursing programs, ensuring program compliance with the State of Illinois Nurse Practice Act and Rules as well as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation requirements.
The ideal candidate will be academically and experientially qualified and demonstrate excellence in leadership, teaching, and scholarship. The position requires an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide leadership in undergraduate and graduate program delivery, including distance education, along with strategic marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts in the School of Nursing. Millikin University is a private, comprehensive institution serving approximately 2,100 undergraduate, graduate, full-time, and part-time students who study in four colleges/schools. The School of Nursing serves approximately 200 undergraduate and 70 graduate students annually. The School of Nursing is a leader in Performance Learning and faculty have long established relationships with clinical partners to provide exceptional clinical experiences for nursing students. The School of Nursing offers the following CCNE accredited programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (traditional and RN to BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Educator and Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice [MENP]), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (Millikin University and Decatur Memorial Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program, Family Nurse Practitioner Program, and DNP completion for Advanced Practice Nurses).
