Summary

The Section of Vascular Neurology and Neurocritical Care, Department of Neurology, seeks a highly qualified and motivated candidate to fill a part-time position (20 hours per week). The project involves a thorough review of subject medical records and extraction of vital information required for study protocols. Some of the variables to be extracted include demographics, clinic information upon admission such as admission neurological scales including Glasgow Coma Scale, NIH Stroke Scale, Fisher Scale, World Federation of Neurological Surgeons Scales and laboratory values. In addition, Neuroradiological images including head CT scans, head MRI and Cerebral Angiography will be reviewed.

Job Duties
  • Reviews subject medical records and extraction of vital information required for study protocols. Some of the variables to be extracted include demographics, clinic information upon admission such as admission neurological scales including Glasgow Coma Scale, NIH Stroke Scale, Fisher Scale, World Federation of Neurological Surgeons Scales and laboratory values.
  • Reviews neuroradiological images including head CT scans, head MRI and Cerebral Angiography.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results and reports to principal investigators.
  • May supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of less experienced research staff.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
  • Experience Required: Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
