About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
The HR Associate will report to the Manager of Personnel Administration for the College of Engineering (COE) and work under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean of Administration and Finance in the Administrative Resource Center. In partnership with hiring managers and faculty supervisors, the HR Associate will provide support with a variety of HR functions with a portfolio. These responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting and coordinating faculty and staff search efforts and the hiring process for faculty, staff, scholars and nonacademic positons such as temporary, internships and volunteer assignments. Position will execute action steps and oversee reappointment scheduling, promotions and terminations, annual performance appraisal process along with the process of summer salaries. Responsibilities also include providing immigration assistance and the management of the J1 Scholar Program in COE. The HR Associate serves as the liaison with Central HR and Payroll on personnel matters, policies and procedures. Assisting, designing and building templates, tools, reports and other potential forms to streamline processes with the guidelines of the University. The HR Associate will administer other assignments and human resource management issues as appropriate.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with three years of customer services/academic administrative experience is preferred. Knowledge of visa sponsorship process at the University; Analytical skills, strong orientation to detail and must; Strong organizational skills, ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects; Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on customer service to faculty, staff, and students. Must have the ability to work with confidential information using good judgment and discretion at all times: - Solid writing skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, and ability to learn new software packages. - Ability to operate independently after initial project assignment and with periodic guidance.
