IT Technician

 

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: IT Technician (IT Technician II) in the Office of Information Technology Services.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: under the supervision of the ITS Field/System Services Manager, provides effective and efficient daily technical support and computer consultation to University end users; provides effective and timely resolutions and solutions to end users concerning hardware, software, enterprise solutions, and technology issues to ensure minimum downtime for users; effectively communicate and document services performed and solutions; writes and revises user documentation; troubleshoots basic user system errors and finds solutions;  works effectively with users, vendors, and other IT Services groups to assure user issues are resolved in a timely, effective manner; assists with training colleagues and users; provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; assists all ITS Client Support Services areas in the support and assistance to the University community; and assists the Help Desk and Field/System Services Manager with the development and maintenance of operational procedures and standards as well as change management processes in alignment and collaboration with ITS goals and objectives to advance the University mission.  

 

Requirements: A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, higher education technology, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.  A valid driver’s license is required. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field and two (2) years of experience in the Information Technology and technical support fields are preferred.  Information security and confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Normal work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the University.  Flexible work hours required to include night and weekend hours. Some travel may be required.
