Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision of the director for community service programs, this individual will be responsible for teaching Notary workshops in Continuing Education, which may include, day, evenings or weekends. The faculty member may be assigned to teach at any of the GTCC campuses (High Point, Greensboro, Cameron or Jamestown). Classes are designed and based on a required curriculum by the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State and therefore all instructors must be certified and updated through their workshop training.
Education Required
- High School Diploma or GED graduate. - Current certification as a Notary Public Instructor through the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State Training. https://www.sosnc.gov/documents/forms/notary/Notary_Chapter_10B.pdf
Education Preferred
- Associate Degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
Experience Required
- Five years' experience as a Notary Public in good standing through the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State. - Teaching and/or industry training experience in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars.
Experience Preferred
- Experience in teaching notary workshops or electronic notary training.
