George Mason University, Korea (GMUK) invites applications for a full-time position teaching Business Foundations at the assistant or associate rank beginning Spring semester, 2021 (February). Faculty with multidisciplinary backgrounds within the Business Foundations area teach undergraduate courses that engage students with a range of contemporary business contexts, using a liberal education approach, and provide a foundation for success in the major courses and in the professional work environment. Foundations courses provide context and skills in the following areas: how to succeed in college; the role of business and its impact on society; career development skills; professionalism and preparation for the workplace; the global environment of business; and the legal environment of business. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated strong commitment to and excellence in teaching. A Ph.D. is preferred, but not necessary if the candidate has a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in business or a related field. Ideally, the successful candidate will also be qualified to teach additional courses in an area of specialty, such as Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems or Information Systems and Operations Management.

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses, furnished housing, home leave allowance, health insurance in Korea’s excellent health care system, and dependent tuition benefit. The expected term is one year, with the opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts.
