Health Information Management Instructor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide classroom instruction for students, academic advising, assist in graduate placement, assist with assessment and accreditation requirements, attend graduation ceremonies, assist with student orientation/registration, revise curricula, develop new courses, design new programs, revise instruction materials, remain current in teaching field, work on college committees and promote institutional objectives.

SBTCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline, or associate’s degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline required.

 FDTC’S/SAC’S QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration or Health Information Management; a minimum of three years’ work experience. Must be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); must have a Medical Coding credential AAPC – CPC or AHIMA - CCS. Prefer two (2) years’ teaching experience.
