Position Summary:

This position provides PC support services as a member of the UW Department of Medicine (DOM) Information Systems Group. The incumbent will act as a specialist in state-of-the-art computing technology, developing expertise in selected technologies and in related computer science & biomedical computer literature. Members of the information systems group also participate in information technology policy development, long and short range planning, and help identify, propose and execute research projects aimed at developing new biomedical computer technology and applications.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

3-5 years of desktop/helpdesk support experience required. Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, information systems or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

3-5 years of desktop/helpdesk support in network environment required.

Experience working in a University research environment preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience with Novell Netware, Zenworks, Office 365 & a demonstrated understanding of computer hardware architecture.

Additional Information:

Strong verbal/written communication skills & ability to work with a wide variety of faculty & staff are necessary. Must have ability to make quick technical decisions to handle several concurrent problems.
