The College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans invites applications for the Joseph A. Butt, S.J., Professorship in Accounting. This is a tenure-track, open-rank Professor of Accounting position, beginning Fall 2021. The scope of specialization within accounting is open and flexible for both research and teaching. Business experience, teaching audit or accounting analytics, teaching in an MBA program, and peer-reviewed publications are preferred. The position includes a 3-3 teaching load. Reasonable research productivity and service are required.  The ideal candidate will show potential for establishing a reputation in academia and the profession of accounting, thereby enhancing the reputation of the University. Candidates must meet AACSB standards for scholarly academic status. Minimum qualifications include candidacy (ABD) for the Ph.D. in Accounting or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution. Salary is competitive. The Professorship provides an annual spending allowance with a renewable three-year term.  Loyola provides a generous benefits package including 100% tuition remission for spouse and children.

The Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business offers the BBA in accounting, business analytics, economics, finance, international business, management, and marketing to approximately 400 on-ground and online undergraduate students and 100 MBA students. Faculty in the College of Business are devoted to shaping ethical, empowered leaders who invite trust and build community. The College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs that help students understand and compete in today's global marketplace. The College requires all students to complete internships and provides career preparation through its Portfolio program. Students take part in a unique set of opportunities, including the Center for Entrepreneurship,  that use the city of New Orleans to create many rich learning and mentoring experiences that define our College. Undergraduate programs have been continuously accredited by AACSB since 1957, and graduate programs since 1974.
