Part time position - 30 hours / week

Position Overview:

Accepts money for payments and gives change. Posts receipts for housing, tuition, student fees, traffic and parking fines and miscellaneous items. Assists in clearing and balancing cash register. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Perform multiple accounting/budgeting support functions, such as compiling and preparing budgetary documents and reports, issuing bills and invoices, calculating and verifying debit and credit amounts, and posting transactions to appropriate accounts and org numbers. Ensure the appropriate filing and maintenance of accounting/budget records. Input data into financial systems and reconcile reports. Prepare or maintain various accounting or budget working papers.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

Requires general education or vocational training. Some knowledge of bookkeeping needed.

Experience Preferred:

One year experience working as a cashier or teller. 10-key experience required, touch system preferred. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel software. Data entry experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent communication skills. Ability to count accurately and perform simple math.

Physical Demands:

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
