Duties of Position :

  • Conduct online training for COVID-19 Contact Tracing and related subject areas

  • Evaluate student performance and record grades

  • Ensure students who successfully complete course receive digital badge

  • Support the development of related Continuing Professional Education courses



The COVID-19 Contact Tracing course is designed to provide students with the tools and resources needed to become a COVID-19 contact tracer. Instructions will be delivered through our online learning platform, Blackboard. Each week the student will complete a new module. Upon successful completion of all course modules, student will be prepared to engage in contact tracing. Achieving a passing grade on the post-test evaluation is also required. This course complies with all Center for Disease Control COVID-19 Contact Tracing guidelines and covers terminology, principles and protocols of contact tracing, strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19, congregate living facilities, jurisdiction-specific protocols, protecting health information, assessment, monitoring and data management.

The Career and Technical Programs department offers non-transferable credit courses in career development, computer training and healthcare through Continuing Professional Education (CPE). CPE courses are short-term training and are completed within one semester. We continually accept proposals for new courses leading to a career.

Educational Requirements : A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required with focused study in public health, infectious disease prevention, epidemiology, biology or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements : Experience in public health and contact tracing is preferred, as well as experience teaching adults.
