Job Title Assistant Professor in Communication and Director of Communication Minor Rank Assistant Professor Tenure Information Tenure Track Job Description

Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor and Director of the Communication minor beginning in the fall of 2021.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate outstanding and ongoing scholarship in their field, excellence in undergraduate teaching in Communication, a demonstrated commitment to serving diverse students through a lens of equity and inclusion, and prior administrative experience.

Essential Duties

This position comes with a reduced teaching load of 2-2 and the administrative duties of directing a new and interdisciplinary minor in Communication.

Candidates should be able to work congenially across departments and be ready to describe their vision for a Communication program that will fit with the mission, needs, and character of the liberal arts program at Providence College. Additionally, candidates must have a willingness to be active in service to the college and community.

Education and Experience Required

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Communication or closely related field (e.g., Cultural Studies, Rhetoric, Contemporary Art History/Visual Culture Studies, and Media Studies) by the time of appointment.
