Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Bioinformatician) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 501978) (to commence as soon as possible for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The selected candidate will work in a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong that was established to administer and support the University’s innovation endeavours.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with a very strong background in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or other related disciplines. They should have excellent communication skills, experience in knowledge sharing, a good record of research output, and the ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Excellent programming skill is expected. Applicants should have solid work experience and track record in genomic/metagenomic and microbiome/virome research. The appointee will participate in applied and methodological work in a Big Data Laboratory, and technology transfer of advanced artificial intelligence in the field of infectious disease research. Working off-campus may be required.

A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
