Position Summary: The primary objective of this position is to develop positive working relationships with all Local Educational Agencies (LEA) in the Volunteer State Community College service area for the purpose of creating and maintaining strong K-12 partnerships including but not limited to dual enrollment offerings, other appropriate early post-secondary and middle college opportunities and the delivery of the support services relative to all K-12 partnerships where students are directly served. The development of all K-12 partnerships and the appropriate support services will be consistent with institutional goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Memoranda of Understanding with LEA's in the service area and other appropriate entities to offer dual enrollment courses and/or other early post-secondary opportunities for high school students.
Create and maintain, in conjunction with interested LEA's, middle college programs in the service area where appropriate.
Coordinate with academic divisions and/or support services departments concerning other requested and appropriate educational experiences for K-12 students that would take place outside of the classroom.
Oversee the development of marketing strategies relative to dual enrollment, and early post-secondary opportunities to include middle college as well as other K-12 partnership initiatives.
Maintain regular and routine contact leading to strong positive working relationships with all LEA's in the Vol State service area as well as other entities that are connected with K-12 education across the state.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of internal and external policies, guidelines, and procedures specific to all K-12 partnerships to include but not limited to dual enrollment and other early post-secondary opportunities as well as any local, State and/or Federal laws, codes and regulations relative to college pathways and dual enrollment.
Manage and supervise the staff in the Office of K-12 Partnerships to also include the Administrative Associate assigned to the Sumner County Middle College High School.
Formulate unit reports, analyses, studies, objectives, and strategies concerning all K-12 partnership initiatives in order to advance enrollment and participation in the programs for which the area is responsible.
Develop and deliver in conjunction with the Division of Academic Affairs an orientation program for faculty concerning dual enrollment and dual credit.
Oversee P-16 initiatives assigned to the Division of Student Services.
Oversee Project SAILS.
Lead the Institutional Effectiveness process for the Office of K-12 Partnerships.
Manage assessment processes in conjunction with the appropriate departments, divisions and outside entities in order to enhance the College's ability to meet the needs of the students served through the Office of K-12 Partnerships and to forecast future enrollments.
Coordinate the local dual credit testing program in collaboration with Academic Affairs, other Student Services offices, and LEAs to facilitate dual credit opportunities for students.
Coordinate professional development, credit classes, and subject matter opportunities that the college may offer to secondary teachers.
Collaborate with Academic Affairs and LEAs to develop and finalize dual enrollment course offerings.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Masters Degree. Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in a related field. Supervisory experience. Evidence of positive working relationships within the K-12 arena. Strong communication skills. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Knowledge of K-12 and higher education practices and procedures. Demonstrated effective writing, speaking, and listening skills. Analytical ability and detail oriented. Ability to plan and execute projects on a large scale. Working knowledge of Banner system. Self-motivating initiative, diplomacy, mature decision-making skills, flexibility in dealing with multiple tasks and diverse issues. Frequent travel to area high schools and LEA's in the Vol State service area.
Pay Rate: 48,370.00 - 60,460.00 annual salary depending on experience
