Location: Off Campus Location - Lewiston or Coeur d'Alene

Pay Range: $23.84 per hour or higher depending on experience and education

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:
This position promotes healthy and safe child care by assisting with program policy development and implementation of quality health, safety, and nutrition practices in early care and education settings. This position provides coaching, training, and resources to child care directors and providers, families, and regional and statewide partners.


Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field. May include professionals such as pediatric nurses, community health nurses, physician assistants or health educators.

Experience:
• Working on an interdisciplinary team;
• Developing and implementing health and safety policies;
• Conducting adult workshops and/or providing training (small and large groups);
• Working in child and community health.


Preferred Qualifications:
Education and training:
• Licensed health professional;
• Endorsement in Early Childhood Mental Health;
• Specialized training in child care health consulting;

Knowledge of:
• Early care and education;
• Health and safety standards in child care;
• Injury prevention for children;
• Oral health of children;
• Inclusion of children with special health care needs in child care settings;
• Safe medication administration;
• Safe sleep practices and policies;
• Immunization schedules for children;
• Developmental screening tools and procedures for use;

Ability to:
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality;
• Interact and communicate with others effectively;
• Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in composing written statements;
• Manage a variety of projects simultaneously;
• Portray a professional demeanor;
• Work evenings and weekends;
• Understand written and spoken English and Spanish languages;
• Travel to site visits in assigned regional areas;
