The Department of Business at Rhodes College (http://www.rhodes.edu/) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor/tenured associate professor position in Accounting to begin Fall 2021. The faculty member will also serve as Director of the Master of Science in Accounting program. The department offers accounting courses in conjunction with both its interdisciplinary undergraduate business major and its graduate program. We especially seek a candidate who has the vision to grow the MS in Accounting program, which boasts a 100 percent job placement rate for students following graduation, with about 75 percent going to the Big Four firms and the rest joining regional or local firms.

The successful candidate should possess a Ph.D. in accounting and demonstrate a firm commitment to teaching and scholarship at a liberal arts college. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CGMA, CMA) are preferred. We seek an individual with broad teaching interests and experience who enjoys interacting with the accounting profession. All areas will be considered, but experience and interest in teaching auditing, cost, or financial is preferred.

Rhodes College believes that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success as an institution, and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Furthermore, Rhodes College is committed to supporting the work-life balance of its faculty. The ideal candidate will appreciate working in a diverse liberal arts setting and supporting the academic growth of students in a collaborative atmosphere of advising, mentoring, and shared learning.

Rhodes is a nationally ranked residential college committed to the liberal arts and sciences. Our highest priorities are intellectual engagement, service to others, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and honor among ourselves. Our students live and learn on one of the country's most beautiful campuses, located in the heart of Memphis, an economic, medical, and culturally diverse center, making Rhodes one of a handful of prominent liberal arts colleges in a major metropolitan area. https://www.rhodes.edu/admission-aid/why-rhodes/liberal-arts-city
