JOB SUMMARY:

The position will primarily focus on online course development, quality, and management, in either for-credit or non-credit programs. Communicates and partner with appropriate stakeholders to achieve educational objectives. Promotes accessibility, quality, and compliance with online courses. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - Online Course Development and Management:
Collaborates with faculty to ensure learning strategies and delivery methods support desired online course learning objectives and outcomes. Guides and supports the development, review, maintenance, and revision of online courses with Canvas and other Clemson supported instructional tools. Ensures technical solutions are compatible with appropriate pedagogical approaches for online learning. Creates the development timeline of the online courses.

25% - Essential - Professional Development and Training:
Achieves appropriate certifications in adopted quality standards. Pursues professional growth through workshops, seminars, and demonstrations. Collaborates with peer institutions about quality standards implementation, support, and best practices. Develops and provides appropriate training opportunities for university stakeholders on adopted quality standards.

20% - Essential - Partnership and Communication:
Serves as an educational consultant for faculty/GTAs/staff. Maintains project overview tracking with program administrators. Develops course framework documents to provide consistent message. Identifies and provides faculty development needs and collaborates with appropriate colleagues.

20% - Essential - Accessibility and Compliance:
Implements strategies to eliminate accessibility barriers in order to Increase student success; ensures compliance with recognized accessibility standards; helps promote copyright compliance; and helps ensure that all design and development initiatives of the department comply with policies of the University, the South Carolina CHE, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and program/specialized accrediting agencies. Supports with implementation of Quality Matters.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education- Master's Degree
Experience - 2-4 years of experience in instructional design or related field. Online teaching experience required.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree in instructional design, curriculum & instruction, or other related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree in instructional design, curriculum & instruction, or other related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

5% - Overnight Travel

Overnight travel for conferences or other professional development opportunities.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 40,759.00 - $ 50,000.00)
