Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
1. One year strongly preferred, three years preferred, of experience in a university setting with experience developing and submitting research proposals as well as monitoring awards for agency, guidelines and policy compliance.
2. Demonstrated administrative, budget, financial, grant and contract administration skills.
3. Independent decision making ability. Ability to analyze situations and exercise good judgment in making a wide variety of decisions.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of and respect for professional standards in correspondence and promotional materials.
5. Ability and flexibility to adapt to a variety of responsibilities and ever-changing needs and priorities.
6. Computer literacy with a wide variety of applications; specific skills in the WISPER, WISDM, WISER, Microsoft Office Suite and general database tools.
7. Ability to develop, document and implement policies.
8. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices with good mathematical skills.
9. Knowledge of University, State, and Federal fiscal and administrative rules, regulations, and procedures.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and students in department, other administrative officials in the College of Engineering, and other campus administrators, and the public.
