As a member of the Creative Group within the Division of Marketing and Communications, the Interactive Designer will contribute to the user-interface (UI) and user-experience (UX) design behind the central suite of products that form the digital presence of Syracuse University. The Interactive Designer will work closely with the Assistant Director of Interactive to understand the University’s brand guidelines and will be responsible for leveraging and expanding our digital design system to support new functionality. He or she will deliver responsive UI/UX mockups and prototypes for central products such as the Home site product, News product, and Events product, and will collaborate with other units across campus to offer recommendations in the areas of user-interface and user-experience design.


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of education and experience.

• Minimum 3 (three) years of work experience in interactive and/or user experience design.

• Must provide a portfolio of material that demonstrates experience designing responsive interfaces.

Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, plan, and design user-interfaces consistent with Syracuse University’s brand guidelines, leveraging existing design language and design system components when appropriate.

• Partner with various stakeholders to bring projects from conceptual stages to production.

• Consultation with other units across campus in the areas of user-interface and user-experience design.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing and Communications on new technologies, interactive design standards, and resources.
