We seek a highly motivated applicant who has obtained a Ph.D. in biology, physics, engineering or a related field. Research experience at the intersection between biology and physics is highly valued.
The successful candidate will join the Strother Lab, which focuses on questions at the interface between physiology and neurobiology using fishes as model organisms. The Strother Lab is located at the UF Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, a research center dedicated to studying fundamental problems in biology and applying that knowledge to issues of human health, natural resources, and the environment. The Whitney Laboratory is situated in St. Augustine, Florida between the Atlantic and the Matanzas River, where researchers enjoy access to a unique biodiversity of plants and animals.
The Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive environment that promotes diversity in many forms. We particularly welcome applicants who can contribute to this environment through their scholarship and professional service.
