COVID 19 Laboratory Technician


Location: Moscow

Pay Range: $19.48 per hour or higher commensurate with experience

Position Summary:
The Covid-19 Laboratory Technician will work with staff from the UI and Gritman Hospital to efficiently and rigorously test samples for COVID 19. The technician will accept or reject samples collected by other staff, organize and track the samples, extract RNA, and use RT-PCR based tests to detect the presence of viral RNA.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Editing and writing business correspondence and technical documents using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials
• Experience working in a high pressure/high volume environment with accuracy
• Experience Working independently or with multiple team-members
• B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a similarly technical degree with 60 semester hours of science including:
◦ 1) 6 or more semester hours of chemistry
◦ 2) 6 or more semester hours of biology
◦ 3) 12 or more semester-hours of any combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology
• The ability to provide related college transcript(s) detailing the above-mentioned required semester hours


Preferred Qualifications:
• CLIA and/or any type of molecular diagnostic experience
• Experience working in a BSL2 laboratory
• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, and basic molecular/cell biology
• Experience working in a high-throughput facility
• Experience with multichannel pipettes and 96well plates
• Experience with a variety of laboratory instrumentation


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by established protocols.
