Nova Southeastern University seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative, highly skilled leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Student Services. The Associate Dean is responsible for providing leadership for the planning, development, and coordination of the offices of Campus Life & Student Engagement, Recreation & Wellness, Residential Life & Housing, and Student Leadership & Civic Engagement. The Associate Dean will oversee the creation of on-going, inclusive opportunities and experiences for all undergraduate students.

The right candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of university policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Exercise independent judgement to resolve diverse issues and emergency situations
  • Increase student engagement and contribute to student success
  • Work late nights, early mornings, and weekends; maintain availability for emergency situations

Supervision and Leadership

  • Lead the strategic planning and vision of the Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of the College of Undergraduate Studies
  • Supervise a team of four Directors that includes direct supervision, annual evaluation, accountability, staff morale, and professional development
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with campus partners who support the success of each office
  • Mentor undergraduate students, fostering a strong sense of community, Shark pride, and accountability


  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for offices and undergraduate student population
  • Participate in budget development and monitor expenses
  • Serve on university wide committees

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree
  • Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs and student development in Higher Education
  • Experience in student leadership development, advising, crisis intervention, and budgeting
  • Strong supervisory experience and ability to hold professionals and student staff accountable
