Job Description:

The Analyst is responsible for coordinating the College’s benefit programs. Interacts with employees, vendors, consultants, and other departments to resolve issues, gather and analyze data, and explain benefits. The position reviews daily BenAdmin report and is responsible for reporting required under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Work requires independent judgment in the performance of complex record keeping functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Works with all College programs, which include, but are not limited to: health plans, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, retirement plans including the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and tax sheltered annuities (TSA’s), sick leave pool, sick leave transfer and terminal leave plans
•Prepares necessary reports to maintain compliance with the Affordable Care Act requirements
•Schedules individual employee retirement appointments, prepares file documentation with necessary benefits & leave payout calculations, and meets with employee to discuss documents
•Works with the payroll department to resolve issues involving Leave payouts for retirees
•Enters Retirement benefits data and handles Retiree Process for Open Enrollment and performs annual enrollment upload to FRS system
•Assists in the tracking and analysis of claim and premium data
•Ensures that new hire orientation materials are up to date and conducts weekly new hire orientation meetings
•Ensures the accurate completion of benefits enrollment through self-service in HR system

Minimum Requirements:

•Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience in Human Resources/Benefits; or Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience in Human Resources/Benefits
•Knowledge of the College’s benefits program design, costs and eligibility requirements
•Knowledge of principles of personnel management
•Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, ACA, Medicare and Social Security
•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, vendors or the public
•Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships with other department employees and benefit plan vendors to resolve employee issues
