Summary

This position provides support for the Baylor St Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC) Research Office. The position is a key point of contact for all research conducted BSLMC from the approval and subsequent subject enrollment process. It requires basic knowledge of clinical research, hospital policy and overall ability to be organized and detail oriented. Communication skills are critical, both written and verbal.

Job Duties
  • Assists in the approval of all Clinical Research activity at BSLMC. This includes reviewing initial applications for completeness and verifying that the correct service areas are identified. The position is responsible for seeking hospital department approvals, verifying IRB approval, among other requirements and works closely with study teams and hospital departments.
  • Assist in flagging research patients and activity in Epic. This position is main point of contact for notification of study activity and requires knowledge and ability to effectively navigate BSLMC Electronic Medical Record.
  • Assists in billing compliance reports. Complies monthly billing compliance reports, based on Epic and billing activity, to BCM and BSLMC leadership.
  • Assists in other research related activity in BSLMC. This includes facilitating the credentialing process at BSLMC for research, updating reports, reviewing policies and procedures.
  • There are currently two positions in this role that handle 100-150 clinical research applications per year.

  • Answers the clinical research phone line.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a clinical research coordinator or in research administration
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and Clinical Trial Management Systems
