Williams College Children’s Center is pleased to announce opening for experienced teacher to join our team dedicated to providing quality child care and education. This is a full-time (40 hrs. /wk.), year-round, regular appointment.

The Williams College Children’s Center has a warm and inviting program with state-of-the-art facilities developed expressly for early childhood education. The teacher will support the team on nurturing and safe care of children, curriculum development, developmentally appropriate practice, child guidance and relationships with the children, parent/teacher communication, and are part of state mandated ratios of staff to children at the Children’s Center, and may be required to cover in any classroom to meet ratios. The teachers will also support the classroom program and mission and philosophy of the Center to provide high quality early education and care for our college and community families.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 1 - 2 years’ experience in early childhood education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience in an early care setting, a plus
  • Candidates must meet the teacher certification requirements established by the Department of Early Education and Care, or be able to obtain within two semesters of beginning employment
  • Thorough knowledge of early education and care principles
  • Experience with or desire to learn about curriculum development
  • A solid background in developmentally appropriate practice
  • Demonstrate experience working with a collaborative team to create project based emergent curriculum that is responsive to children’s interests and strengths as well as enthusiastically participating in school-wide staff inquiry and development
