Position Title: CCED Part-Time Instructor-High School Equivalency Prep

Salary: $25 per hour

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and teaching experience required.

Duties:

The Center for Corporate and Community Education is seeking part-time instructors for High School Equivalency prep classes. Our instructors have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the College mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our employees have an opportunity to make a difference in students' lives every day.
This position will work with underrepresented youth 18 - 24 years of age at the MVCC Education Outreach Center and construction sites. This is a part-time grant funded role. The Construction Trainer's primary role is to train and equip students with the vocational skills that lead to employment (NCCER), apprenticeships and post secondary education.

The position works collaboratively with the Mohawk Valley YouthBuild grant-funded project team to build the youths’ leadership skills. Assists youth in the YouthBuild program with all construction related programming, including certifying students with a nationally-recognized credential. Provides youth of diverse backgrounds and from the high-needs population of the City of Utica with rigorous academic instruction, occupational skills and training and viable pathways to college and careers.
