The School of Art seeks instructors to teach a variety of studio art and lecture courses in some of the following areas: animation, art history, ceramics, drawing, foundations (2D, 3D, 4D, drawing), glass, metals, painting, photography, intermedia, printmaking, sculpture, art education, and visual communication.
The School of Art at Ball State has forty-nine full-time faculty and offers state-of-the-art facilities serving over 600 undergraduate majors as well as a growing graduate program. Programs at the BA, BS, BFA and MFA levels include animation, art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, glass, graphic arts management, metals, painting, photography, intermedia, printmaking, sculpture, and visual communication (graphic design). Housed in the Art and Journalism building, School of Art students enjoy over 57,000 square feet of world-class facilities, a nationally ranked animation program, the Atrium Gallery, and the Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation. Description
The School of Art seeks instructors to teach a variety of studio art and lecture courses in some of the following areas: animation, art history, ceramics, drawing, foundations (2D, 3D, 4D, drawing), glass, metals, painting, photography, intermedia, printmaking, sculpture, art education, and visual communication.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Art from an accredited college or university completed by start of appointment. (For Art History, master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Art History from an accredited college or university.) Experience teaching at the college or university level.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
For Art History, Ph.D. with 18 graduate hours in Art History from an accredited college or university by start of appointment. For studio courses, M.F.A. from an accredited college or university by start of appointment. Experience teaching at the college of university level beyond graduate assistantships. Evidence of scholarly publications and activities.
