Job Description:

The Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Banner Support Specialist. Expectations include working closely with college administrative professionals to provide first line customer support, functional consulting and training on SICAS developed software enhancements to Ellucian's Banner. SICAS is a SUNY-wide program organized to provide software enhancements, technical support, best practices, and training for Ellucian's Banner software system to member campuses including SUNY state operated and community college campuses and several associate member campuses made up of private colleges and universities in New York State. The Center is located on its host campus SUNY Oneonta. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college with 6,500 students. Duties include but not limited to: providing first line customer support to functional office personnel at SICAS member campuses through the SICAS service desk Service Now. Support will be provided to campus users who are using the SICAS modified version of the Ellucian Banner System, assisting in the development of documentation, training materials, and best practice models in conjunction with the other members of the SICAS functional support team. Travel is required. This position will work closely with other members of the SICAS team and is located at the SICAS Center in Oneonta.


Required qualifications: bachelor's degree and a valid driver's license.

Preferred: previous work experience in a functional office of an institution of higher education, SUNY preferred; demonstrated experience with the SICAS modified version of Banner; demonstrated experience with Service Now; experience with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Teams, SharePoint, Word and Outlook; excellent written communication and presentation skills; experience providing customer service in person, over the phone and/or via the internet; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
