Instructor of Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

USC Upstate invites applications to teach in an undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program in both classroom and clinical areas on the Spartanburg campus, participate and/or lead in scholarly endeavors, and actively participate in service activities at the school, university and professional levels.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs at the Mary Black School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The BSN is offered for pre-licensure students in addition to RNs seeking their BSN in the RN-BSN track. The RN-BSN track is offered online and face-to-face and the MSN is offered with an emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Nursing Education, and Nursing Leadership. The Mary Black School of Nursing offers the upper division nursing program on the main campus in Spartanburg and RN-BSN and graduate programs at the University Center Greenville (UCG) with state-of-the-art simulation centers on both campuses. The Mary Black School of Nursing has an enrollment consisting of approximately 450 pre licensure students, 120 RN-BSN and 22 graduate students, in addition to 300 - 400 students taking prerequisites for the nursing program. Minimum qualification: Master's degree in Nursing required as minimum academic preparation for instructor level and doctoral degree for tenure-track Assistant or Associate rank. Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in South Carolina is required.
Preferred qualification: Applicants with teaching experience at the university level are preferred. An earned doctorate degree in nursing or related field and five years teaching at the university level are preferred for tenure-track appointments. Clinical, practical experience in an executive nursing leadership role is preferred.
